JASON PLAUTZ

I'm an award-winning journalist based in Denver, covering the environment, politics, and the intersection of the two. My writing has appeared in Science, High Country News, Reveal, Pacific Standard, HuffPost, Undark, Greenwire, Ars Technica, National Journal, The Atlantic, 5280, Mental_floss, Washingtonian and others. I participated in the Ted Scripps Fellowship for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado in Boulder in 2017-2018. For my reporting on a fracking explosion for High Country News with The Story Group, I received the 2019 Thomas L. Stokes award from the National Press Foundation. Adjunct instructor at the University of Colorado school of journalism. Occasional marathoner, unwavering Cleveland sports fan.
