JASON PLAUTZ

I'm an award-winning journalist based in Denver, covering the environment, politics, and the intersection of the two. I currently write for E&E News and Energywire, covering electricity and the clean energy transition in the West. My writing has appeared in Science, High Country News, Reveal, Mother Jones, Pacific Standard, HuffPost, Undark, Ars Technica and many other outlets. I participated in the Ted Scripps Fellowship for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado in Boulder in 2017-2018. For my reporting on a fracking explosion for High Country News with The Story Group, I received the 2019 Thomas L. Stokes award from the National Press Foundation. Adjunct instructor at the University of Colorado school of journalism. Occasional marathoner, unwavering Cleveland sports fan.
